MinneWIC - Frequently Asked Questions

Who can attend MinneWIC?

Anyone who is interested in learning about the challenges and rewards of computing careers or in advancing technology through broader representation of women.
We welcome undergraduate and graduate students with interests in computing and information technology, high school students interested in computing, high-school teachers, faculty, and professional women.

Do I need to register?

Yes, every attendee has to register. The non-refundable registration fee of $TBA will cover all meals and materials. The registration is heavily subsidized by our sponsors. Please visit the registration page to register.

Who can apply for scholarships?

Generous scholarships provided by our sponsors will cover hotel costs in a shared double room for Friday night for anyone registered for the conference who needs a hotel accommodation. The deadline to apply for scholarships is TBA, Visit the registration page to apply.
Attendees who need travel reimbursment or hava a particular financial hardship and cannot cover the registration can also apply for a scholarship.

What if I miss the deadline to apply for a scholarship?

If funding and hotel rooms are still available we will accept scholarship applications after the deadline, but we have no guaranteed hotel rooms. Please do not delay.

What is the dress code?

Typically at computer science conferences people dress casual. You do not need to dress like you would do for a job interview, but you need to be neat, and avoid too tight or too baggy clothing. Enjoy being with many other women!
